Compositional People
A series of posters based off of the word composition.
Prompt
For this series of posters I wanted to work around the word composition as a jumping off point. Through the word composition. I worked off of two different attributions of it: how something is made up and someone who makes; the composition and the composer. With the word's different forms, the subjects became composers/musicians and the instrument(s) they use. For John Williams, it's an entire orchestra; for Itzhak Perlman, a violin; for Earth, Wind, and Fire, a band.

Initial Designs
In the initial designs I focused heavily on maintaining the same color scheme that was shown on the reference photo. Through much deliberation, I tried to find suitable background colors and opted to using a gradient, however I wasn't very satisfied with it. The makeup of each person was based around the various instruments used by the different people as I mentioned in the prompt section. Overall, I was pretty satisfied on how that came out, but I noticed there were some slight issues with how things were colored, so the main issue I found in each poster had to do with color distribution.
Final Designs
After thinking over what I did initially, I decided to reduce the amount of colors in each poster and bring the brightness up. This made the posters now look more vibrant rather than moody. I also added a few more instruments here-and-there to make each person look fuller than they were. I also went for an overall cohesive color identity rather than everything being contained to their own reference colors. This helps bring an overall unified look that feels real and cohesive.
